Some Common Things About the Exam Strategy

Some Common Things About the Exam Strategy
Md. Imran Nur Manik
  1. Check and double check (i.e. cross check) your exam date and time, to avoid any kinds of mistakes.
  2. Calculate the ratio of marks and time (i.e. minutes per mark) at the home. It is preferable to solve the previous year’s questions to cope up with the time.
  3. Target should be “answering all the questions within the time”
  4. Make the things ready which are allowed to take with you in the exam hall. These includes
    Stationaries:   For examples
  1. Pen (Black, Blue, Indigo inks. Except RED & GREEN inks)
  2. Led pencil (2B)http://quickstationary.com/stationary/scales/56e06db64b9c4.jpg
  3. Scale (Small & Large)
  4. Compass, Calculator (Whichever required)
  5. Rubber etc.
                    Papers: For examples
a. Admit card
b. ID card
c. Clearance (Whenever Applicable) etc.
  1. Reach 05 minutes earlier in the exam hall. Start your journey from your home, keeping enough time in your hand.
  2. Keep your precious things in a safe place.
  3. Take your seat according to the seat plan.
  4. After getting the answer script, fill it up with all the necessary information (s) before commencing the answer.
  5. Giving margins with the led pencil is preferable.
  6. Carefully read all the questions. If you need to put a hint, do not put it on the question paper; instead put it on your answer script (Preferably the last page) marking “ROUGH” on the top of the page.
  7. Questions should be wisely answered. Followings are some useful tips.
a. Start with the best known answer.
b. If all the answers are best known, then start with that, which would require less time (Whole answer is short).
c. Then move to the descriptive ones.
d. The equation and math, if common should be given earlier.
e. If all the questions are not common to you, then after answering the best known ones start with those which are partially known and finally move to the unknown ones.
f. Remember, best answer may give you 100% marks, but leaving any known or partially known question would give you nothing. That’s why you have to answer all the questions within the given time.
  1. Presentation of answers is an art. Answers should be presented in such a way, that offer the examiner to evaluate the exam paper with ease and comfort .For this reason following points to be noted.
  1. Give margin leaving 1 inch space at the left side and on the top of the page. Giving margins with the led pencil is preferable.
  2. Start writing from the top of the page with the word “Ans. to the Ques. No. 1”
  3. It is desirable to write Ans. to the Ques. No. 1” in an ink other than the answering ink. (e.g. Blue, Indigo).
  4. Each new answer should be started from the top of a new page. Don’t worry if there is a large space left, after answering the previous one.
  5. If you have forgotten any point(s) in the middle of the answer, leave some space and move on the next points(s). Don’t waste your time.
  6. Cross out any incorrect sentence with a single straight line. Don not scribble!
  7. Before cutting a wrong answer, write the correct one first and then pen through the wrong one.

  1. Properly fill up the additional answer script before you start writing.
  2. Bind the folder tightly, ensuring that it would not loose during subsequent handling.
  3. Before submitting your answer script (including additional answer script) finally check, whether you have correctly filed it up with all the necessary information or not.
